We are going to have a bumper crop of tart pie cherries this year from our one little tree. They should be ready for cherry pie by the 4th of July. We lost one of our cherry trees last year because of the early snow before Thanksgiving. Cherry trees in the area weren’t yet dormant so the below zero temperatures killed many trees. Many of the trees in the Emmett, Idaho, area, home of the Emmett Cherry Festival, were lost. Therefore I am very grateful for this little cherry tree. We shall cherish these cherries.
